The mission of Wingspan Counseling is to live well and holistically.

The direction of counseling services has been greatly impacted through the magnitude of changes in our society over the last decade. The systems that have been implemented to make the medical model more efficient have also led to a greater distance between providers and clients. The unintended consequence of this shift has been a loss of human connection.

Wingspan Counseling Services seeks to maintain a focus on the human basis of the counseling relationship. It is important that the core foundation of counseling be based in collaboration and overall trust in the provider. In seeking services from Wingspan Counseling, you have an opportunity to build a healthier foundation for navigating stressors while also fostering a more balanced and greater quality of life.

My name is Jon and I am a Counselor committed to offering mental health services from a perspective of radical acceptance and openness.

Meet Jon

I have been in the counseling field for over ten years and have been able to build positive relationships within the community through successful treatment outcomes. I have an extensive knowledge base of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as informed components of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solutions-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Individually tailoring the fusion of these approaches has been a fulfilling experience in seeing clients grow through a greater understanding of themselves. The experience that I have gained through practicing over the years has further built a unique worldview to allow for unconditional understanding for the human condition.

Applied Experience

Each of us bring a unique perspective to how we interact with the world around us. It is said that those that practice what they teach are most effective as clinicians. This is a fundamental principal of how I practice therapy and has given me the insight of knowing what is most effective. I have extensive experience in working with trauma, depression and anxiety. My work experience is inclusive of involvement with inpatient and outpatient levels of care. Through this, I have come to recognize the impact of the multiple variables and systems surrounding our lives. Others have described my style as relaxed and comfortable. Most importantly, I truly believe that therapy is a collaborative process and this is reflected within the dynamics of how I practice. I understand that seeking help through vulnerability takes courage and I am appreciative of your efforts to get this far! Taking the next steps can be difficult and I want to provide assurance of a safe landing at Wingspan Counseling.
